बाजार विभाजन हेतु पर्यटकों का वर्गीकरण

टूर ऑपरेटर बाजार वर्गीकरण हेतु पर्यटकों का वर्गीकरण भी कर सकते। हैं 
मोटे तौर पर दो तरह के पर्यटक होते हैं। 
१- व्यक्तिगत या स्वतंत्र पर्यटक 
२- सामूहिक पर्यटक 
३- घुक्कड़ पर्यटक
   प्रत्येक प्रकार के पर्यटकों को टूर ऑपरेटरों की सेवा चाहिए होती है। 

सभी तरहों के पर्यटकों की निम्न आवश्यकताएं होती है -
१- एक दूसरे /नए लोगों से मेल जोल 
२- नए तरह का भोजन प्राप्ति 
३- रोमांचक गति विधियां 
४- धार्मिक अनुष्ठान 
५ - नया मनोरंजन 
६- भोग विलास , आनंद , मजे के साधन 
७-विशेष या अन्य तरह की संस्कृति 
८-आराम 
९- मनोरंजन /रात्रि मनोरंजन आदि
