     British government appointed Major Pearson as In charge of Kumaon Forest Division in 1868. However, Pearson did not change in Ramsey methods for managing forests of Garhwal and Kumaon.

  Government decided boundaries of Kumaon Bhabhar forest in 1877.

 Captain Road administrated the forests of Garhwal and Bhabhar for 1854-1858.

  Before, the above time, Britishers offered Pataladun forest contract to Padma Singh for Rs 2750 annually for twenty years. In 1863, government became alert for Padma Singh harming the forests. Patalidun forests were the topest quality forests among forests from Yamuna to Sharda rivers. In 1863, by paying 15000 to Padma Singh, government took Patalidun forests in its hand. The government transferred Patlidun forests from Bijnor division to Garhwal division. However, toll tax collection for Khoh Ravie region was kept under Bijnor. Government established posts for collection tax in Patalidun and Kotalidun. There was income increase and government spent money for road construction and other forest development activities.

 Captain road did not do anything for forest conservation. Captain Road increased forest cutting. Captain Raod constructed a wood cutting machine (through water) . However, the ater could not reach to the said site and machine was idle there for many years.
