             JankJod’ a Garhwali play written by playwright Rajendra Dhashmana is one of mile stones for modern Garhwali drama /play world.  Famous Garhwali drama researcher Dr Sudha Rani sttes that ‘Jank Jod ‘ by Rajendra Dhashmana is one of the mile stones in Garhwali drama world for taking Garhwali drama to new era. Famous writer and socio –political activist Suresh Nautiyal narrates that ‘Jank Jod ‘ is third step in modernizing Garhwali drama and taking Garhwali drama world for competing with other India language dramas. Rajendra Dhashmana connected the drama with people and paved way for future growth in Garhwali drama.

          'Jank Jod' is a satirical drama and was staged by a drama organization ' Jagar'  in 1975 in Delhi. Mohan Dandriyal  directed the drama. The drama deals with the bureaucratic mentality of migrated Garhwali even in their social and family life. The drama is amalgam of realism and imagination but inclined more to realism. Dr Sudharani remarked  that the drama deals the problems and future of Garhwali drama staging keeping the  theme of bureaucratic mentality on back ground. She writes that Jank  Jod became interesting when Mohan Dandariyal directed the drama. 

         The characters are suitable for dramatic effects and so are dialogues to suit the theme. Dialogues are very sharp and teasing to migrated Garhwalis.

          The dialogues and characters seem to be from real world of government servant from migrated Garhwali world living in Delhi.

 The drama ‘Jank Jod’ by Dhashama opened new world for modernizing Garhwali dramas.
