ट्रैवेल एजेंसी या ऑपरेटर के निम्न मुख्य कार्य या उत्तरदायित्व होते हैं ---------------
यात्रियों /पर्यटकों को सूचना देना
ट्रैवेल एजेंसी या ट्रैवेल एजेंट का प्रथम उत्तरदायित्व पर्यटकों , ग्राहकों को समुचित , सही सूचना देना होता है।
ट्रैवेल एजेंसी या ट्रैवेल एजेंट को गंतव्य स्थान के बारे में समुचित ज्ञान होना आवश्यक है कि ग्राहकों को समुचित सूचना दी जा सके।
ट्रैवेल एजेंसी या ट्रैवेल एजेंट को ग्राहको के साथ बातचीत का कलाविज्ञ या वाकपटु होना चाहिए जिससे कि संभावित ग्राहक को अपना ग्राहक बना सके।

पर्यटक को पर्यटक स्थल भ्रमण में कई सेवाओं और कई सेवा दाताओं की आवश्यकता होती है। ट्रैवेल एजेंट ग्राहक को पर्यटन विक्रेता से जोड़ता ही नही अपितु कई सेवाओं का भी प्रबंध करता है। पर्यटन स्थल विक्रेता या विक्रेताओं के साथ सूचनाओं का आदान -प्रदान करना भी
ट्रैवेल एजेंसी या ट्रैवेल एजेंट का उत्तरदायित्व होता है।
पर्यटक हेतु योजना व बजेट
ट्रैवेल एजेंसी या ट्रैवेल एजेंट पर्यटक के लिए विभिन्न योजना बनाता है और बजेट बनाता है जिससे पर्यटक भ्रमण का सही चुनाव कर सके .

विदेसी मुद्रा का प्रबंध
यदि पर्यटक विदेस भ्रमण पर जा रहा है तो ट्रैवेल एजेंसी या ट्रैवेल एजेंट को विदेसी मुद्रा का समुचित इंतजाम करना पड़ता है।
बीमा या इन्सुएरेंस
पर्यटक के लिए ट्रैवेल एजेंसी या ट्रैवेल एजेंट को स्थिति अनुसार मेडिकल , जीवन बीमा का प्रबंध भी करना पड़ता है।
ट्रैवेल गाइड का इंतजाम आदि सहायक सेवायें
ट्रैवेल एजेंसी या ट्रैवेल एजेंट को अन्य कई तरह की सहायक सेवाओं का इंतजाम करना पड़ता है। जैसे -पासपोर्ट, वीसा , होटल बुकिंग, स्थानीय ट्रांसपोर्ट , टूरिस्ट गाइड आदि।
ट्रैवेल एजेंसी या ट्रैवेल एजेंट को अन्य कई तरह की सहायक सेवाओं का इंतजाम करना पड़ता है। जैसे -पासपोर्ट, वीसा , होटल बुकिंग, स्थानीय ट्रांसपोर्ट , टूरिस्ट गाइड आदि।
