There have been scenes in many Hindi and other Indian language films wherein the parents of spoiled children harass the teachers who want students take right path and there should be restrictions or a system to bring the spoiled students on main stream.  There have been never ending discussions and debates at many forums about the problems of spoiled students and their problems against the role of parents in proper education of their children.
Om Prakash Semwal wrote a Garhwali drama ‘Dhauns’ staged in Government Inter College, Chopta, North Garhwal in 2002. Sons of Gumanu and Rati don’t take interest in study. Gumanu and Rati bribed head master of middle school for passing their sons. The principal of local Inter College resists admitting these spoiled students in the college. The local political leader comes to rescue the parents of spoiled students. One day, these two students indulged into theft and police has to take the stock.
Semwal wrote the drama for teen age students and the simple language of drama fulfils the aim of playwright. The drama portrays that in education system, there is a specific role of parents and governing bodies of the school or college.  The drama leaves space for discussion on the subject of role of parents in providing better education for their children.
