[Let us Celebrate Hundredth year of Modern Garhwali Fiction]
Bhishma Kukreti
Dr Shiva Nand Nautiyal wrote five Garhwali stories (Bahuguna, 1975). Dhar maki Gaini is one of those stories by Dr Nautiyal. The story is about Jasuli . her father took three thousand bucks from father in law of Jasuli. Jasuli’s father in law Jethuva took one thousand bucks as loan from a rich man. Jethuva dies. Jasuli’s husband Govind ran away from home for earning. Jasuli has to suffer a lot
The story is unusual and that is the exclusivity of story. Dr Shiva Nand uses different story style than his contemporary Garhwali fiction writer. The story has smooth flow. The story has pleasure for readers and motive too.
