Late Arjun Singh Gusain has three daughters and one son and he always used to say that his fifth child is ‘Hilans’ a monthly magazine dedicated to Uttarakhand movement and Garhwali-Kumaun language literature promotion.
Hilans a monthly magazine published by Gusain took the task of language literature of Garhwali and Kumauni. The Hilans is proof that Arjun Singh Gusain was supporter of following majors for protecting the languages those are in danger.
Arjun Singh Gusain always encourages articles encouraging adults speaking Garhwali and Kumauni as measure of language revitalization or avoiding language endanger.
Arjun Singh understood that written literature in Garhwali and Kumauni languages is helpful in language revitalization or avoiding language endanger.
Arjun Singh Gusain wrote about people should talk in their own languages as step of language revitalization or avoiding language endanger.
Arjun Singh Gusain always persuaded that Uttar Pradesh government and later on Uttarakhand government should take measures for language revitalization or avoiding language endanger in context of Garhwali and Kumauni languages as Kumauni and Garhwali speakers have been declining day by day.
