Revenue generation is the fundamental problem for regional periodicals specially periodicals of Uttarakhand. . Since readers are scattered and readers are in less numbers the advertisers don’t want to invest in periodicals of scattered readership.
Arjun Singh Gusain used to cover Mumbai in search of advertisers and he was able to generate advertisement for Hilans smoothly till he became ill.

Chhilku- A Kumauni poem by ‘Jigyasu’ talks about changing culture in villages.

Ajadi- A Garhwali poem by Vinod Uniyal ridicules the political leaders interested in getting elected and not caring for people.
Ghar Bati kaka ki chitthi- Garhwali poet Puran Pant Pathik depicts the worsening situation of villages of Kumaun- Garhwali due to mass migration.
