There is variation in characters of stories by A.B. Bahuguna.
Bahuguna never accepted affixed ism in his literature. The common characteristic of Bahuguna’s stories is that they all are from the real world of Garhwal and they are not imagery or symbols but living characters.  The characters are of varied nature as found in Garhwali society.  Abodh Bandhu effectively characterizes the geographical structure of Garhwal.  The stories are sign of sensitive nature and broad experiences of Bahuguna.
Bahuguna is always aware about language, words and its uses. His uses of words are medium of bringing freshness, flow, conflicts, solutions and Garhwalism in the stories.
Bahuguna believes in Sanskritized Garhwali language.  By words and style, Bahuguna provides direction and intention of story writer to the readers. By taking symbolic words and names, Bahguna creates atmosphere for his stories. For example, there is no connection of Swami Ram Teerth in Apni Jyan story but the name Ram Teerth suggests to readers about philosophy in the story.
The language and style have energy to accelerate the flow of story. Bahuguna uses various styles in his stories. Bahuguna uses proverbs for strengthening the stories and characterization.
There is shadow of his personalities in the fiction of Abodh Bandhu Bahuguna.  Bahuguna’s stories are always in search, researching culture, social structure of Garhwalis and future of Garhwali life and society. Intellectualism is main character of Bahuguna in his stories.
Garhwalis will always remember Abodh Bandhu Bahuguna for his contribution in developing Garhwali fiction literature.
