(Review of a
short Garhwali Drama ‘Nasha’ (1993) written
by Om Prakash Semwal)
Bhishma Kukreti
Om Prakash Semwal wrote and staged ‘Nasha’ a Garhwali drama in August 1993
in Chamoli, Rudraprayag- Garhwal - Uttarakhand. The drama is about making students and parents
aware about the reasons, dark sides and the possibilities of being addiction
free. The drama makes aware parents that
if the parents don’t look after the attitude and friend circle of their
children there might be possibility of child getting tobacco or and drug
addicted. If the parents don’t take care at initial level of addiction of the child
it becomes very difficult for child leaving smoking or taking drugs.
Definitely the drama is written for one aim
and that is for students. Therefore, writer paid attention on the finer points
of the subject.
The short drama is also suitable for street
theatre or as filler drama.
