Contribution of Bhagwati Prasad Chandola for developing Garhwali theatre

              Bhagwati Prasad Chandola was born in Dehradun on 6^th July 1911.

                 He got education from Dehradun and Shanti niketan. Later on he joined Doon School and became Hindi department head. He used to publish Poems by nick name ‘Sukumar’

       Bhagwati Prasad Chandola wrote a fine drama ‘Aj Also chhod Deva’ in Garhwali language .  Gadhwal jan Parishad Dehradun  staged this drama many times in Dehradun.  The drama ‘Aj Also chhod Deva’ is a satire on Shramadan. The audience liked the sharp dialogues, flow of drama, and drama construction.

चैतु- नाची कूदी दिन गंवोला ! हैं ! और तुमारा  घेरचो भरण का वास्ता हम डोखरा मा अपणो कपाळ फोड़ला , गोठ मा जै जैक अपणी टंगड़ी तोडला, घास लखड़ा सारी सारिक अपणी खोपड़ी खुरचौला और तुम मौज मस्त खंखळ बौणिक नाचला कुडला, चैन कि बांसुळी बजैला , कख छ रे वो छोरा छंछरि ... किलै रै अपणा पेट काटिक हमन त्वे तै स्कुल भेजे कि तू लिखणो पढ़णो छोड़िक इन्ने दिन काटो ..
