                   Fyunli is very important flower of Garhwal and Kumaon. There are stories and songs about Fyunli flower (Rainwerdita indica). One of folk stories related to Fyunli is as under from Ravain region-

             There was a beautiful young girl Fyunli. Every boy was dreaming for her marrying. Fyunli died and her youth and beauty was gone. Fyunli went to Deities conference. Deities decided her to have new birth. Her beauty entered into a yellow flower. After death, she took birth as a flower called Fyunli.

फ्यूंळी का तब प्राण उडी रयो रूप  विनाश ह्वे रौ ज्वानी  को नाश तब नसी रै बाँठींण देवों की सभा तैं की बाँठींण ज्वानी फूल में उडी रै समै मरी नै  फेर जन्मी रै फ्यूंळी स्यां बाँठींण
