                             Name of Manshah

                   All the four Garhwal King lists mention Manshah as Garhwal King. Manodaya Kavya also mentions the King as Manshah. The European indigo business traveler William French mentions (1611) Garhwal King as Mansha. Bahuguna Vanshavali mentions that initially the name of Manshah was Manpal but Jyotishray got the title for Garhwal King as Shah. However, there is no historical proof of Bahuguna Vanshavali.

                Information Sources about Manshah

1-The two inscriptions are found on top of Khsetrapal temple in Devprayag. One is about Sahajpal. Second inscription states that in the Manshah ruling period, by order of Jyotiray Vyas and Kashi built the top (Gumuth) of Mahadev Temple and the workers –Kesav brothers of  Haridas built Mandap of said temple in 1608.

2-An inscription on Raghunath Temple Devprayag states that in the time of Manshah King, Pujari Anant Bhatt Ayapyavar Sayana ordered to build the Mandap of Raghunath Temple and Tibari-Patangan of Vishwanath temple in 1611.

3- There is an inscription in a temple near Pauri that states that on the birth day of Manshah (January 1592), King Manshah donated land for that particular temple.

4- In  Ekeshwar Temple in Mandarsyun, the inscription states that Manshah donated land for that temple (1547). It seems the readers of inscriptions could not read the exact year.

Manodaya Kavya described much about Manshah.
