Dr.
Shiva Nand Nautiyal was born on 18th June 1936 in village Kotla,
Bali-Kandarsyun Patti, Pauri Garhwal of Uttarakhand, India.
He completed his double M.A.in Hindi and Sociology.
Dr Shiva Nand Nautiyal was member of legislative assembly, U.P of Paudi constituency
from 1969 for 22 years. Dr Nautiyal was also minister for higher education in
U.P. ministry. Dr. Shiva Nand Nautiyal expired on 2nd April 2004 in
Lucknow. Dr Shiva Nand Nautiyal published 22 books and more than 100 articles on
various subject.

Dr Shiva Nand Nautiyal published articles in Hindi
in popular magazines and newspapers which were new to readers about Garhwali
culture, geography, folk literature and tourism. Dr Dabral also published articles on Arunachal
Pradesh too.

Nautiyal wrote Garhwali language stories and a drama
Dr Shiva Nand Nautiyal
edited and published ‘Shailoday’ magazine for eight years from Delhi.
People will remember Dr Shiva Nand Nautiyal for his tremendous works on
folk literature, culture and tourism literature of Himalayas.
