(Review of Garhwali Drama ‘Khabesh’ written by Madan Ballabh Dobhal)
Bhishma Kukreti
Khabesh deals with three problems of rural
Garhwal of before sixties- the oppression of mother in laws towards daughter in
laws, migration and blind faith.
The writer used three subjects and
could not be successful in impressing the audience. The drama is an average drama.
There is no curiosity for the audience to wait for the future course of action
in the drama.
The basic problem is that dramatist did not
decide the main subject and did not provide time for developing theme. There
are folk song and a Jagar in speeding up the drama.
