In
the Mahabharata Era, Garhwal had importance with the King, Prince, princesses
and administrative heads of Hastinapur or Bharat nation with Garhwal,
Uttarakhand.
It is a common knowledge that in Mahbharata
era, Pandavas had a common wife Draupadi
too . There was ruling that when Draupadi is with a Pandava brother other
Pandava will not enter into room. If
anybody breaks the rule he had to go out for twelve years as repent. Once Arjun
broke the rule and as repent remedy Arjun had to leave Indraprashth and pass
the living in forest.
Arjun
reached Gangadwar (Haridwar area). There Arjun met Ulipi a princessesof Nagraj
Kauravya. Ulipi fell in love with Arjun. Both married there through Gandharva
ways of marriage. They had ason Irwan. Irwan fought Kurukshetra battle and as
killed for protecting Pandavas.

Yudhisthar
organized a Rajsuya Yagya(A battle Yagyaa for winning territories) . Arjun won
the territory of uttarakhnad.
