                 In old age, people used to take help from medicinal man and magic man or Mantriks for  Healing Nyctalopia or Night Blindness.

               C. Meyer (1973) and D.C Jarvis (1985) provide the accounts of folk medicines and folk Mantra or folk Rites/Rituals or religious folk songs used by Native Americans as remedies for various diseases as Nyctalopia or Night Blindness in America, South America and Latin America.

                     David W.Hood provides many accounts of folk beliefs and folk rituals of Scotland (Folk Culture in North east Scotland) for removing diseases as for Night blindness too.

               Philips T. Weller provides many blessings for removing diseases in his book ‘The Roman Rituals’ (1964).

   John Schiffeler provides a glimpse of folk rituals and folk medicines practiced in Shan-hai Ching area of China, in his research long note, “Chinese Folk Medicine”  

                 The following folk rite is practiced by Mantrik in Kumaun and Garhwal for healing Nyctalopia or Night Blindness.

ओउम नमो गुरु को आदेस , जै गुरु की विद्या तैं गुरु को नमस्कार,

प्रथम मही जाल रतवा को मारू , थल रतवा को मरू , ऐरा रतवा को मारू,

वेरा रतवा को मारू, अरचंड रतवा को मारू, उस्वास को आगे जाई मारू,

पिछै रह्या तो अपणा गुरु का मॉस खाई , मेरे गुरु की दूवाई ,

जाग जाग मर -मर के बिस भर,

सात बार उल्ला गरड़ा तेरी कार लूहा, गरुड़ की कार, केरी न टली दो बार,

मेढ़ा कि बली दक्षिण दिशा छुटी जौला ,
