Ba Katan or Swimming is popular game of Garhwal, Kumaon, and Haridwar where deep rivers flow or where there is Khali/Hauj/Baudi or pond. The children or youth may do swimming competitively or without competition.
There are folk stories about swimming in Garhwali too.
