Local Name – Aunla, Anvala
Hindi Name – Anvala, Amvala Amla
Sanskrit Name – Dhatri , Amalaka
Medical uses- In Ayurveda all parts are used for producing various types of medicines.
Furniture, Agriculture Instruments, wood etc.
Food Uses – Various items
Myths, Religious Uses and Traditions
Hindus believe that Amla was originated from Amrit drop at Samudra manthan.
Hindus believe that Lord Vishnu dwells on Amla tree.
The tree is worshipped on Amla Navami ( November) . People take perform rituals and take food under Amla tree.
Amla is also plant of Bharni rashi nad astrologers suggest to plant Amla on Amla Navami .
Amavala is related toVrishchik Rashi . Therefore astrologers suggest the persons effected by Vrishchik rashi for planting Amvala tree.
