When you meet Hindi, Bhojpuri film-TV serial music director Sunil Patni in any Garhwali-Kumauni social organization’s meet you will surprise that a non Garhwali Sunil Patni speaks better Garhwali than you. Under the banner of Shri Badri Vishal Music Company, with his wife Mohani Dhyani Patni, Sunil Patni produced and directed a VCD film and four music albums.
Sunil Patni was born on 5/12/1968 in Delhi. From his childhood he was attracted to music. He took music training in Gandhrva and under other musicians. Sunil Patni was called a ‘Pianists’ in his student life. Sunil came to Mumbai and tried his talent with Hindi TV serial as music director. Till date Sunil provided back ground music and music to more than hundred Hindi TV serials and more than hundred Bhojpuri films and music albums.
Eighteen years back, Sunil Patni married to a music lover Garhwali girl Mohni Dhyani (Ranakot, Kandwalsyun) and was attracted to Garhwali culture, folk music and heritage. Mohini’s father is a priest in Badrinath temple. Sunil frequently visits Badrinath valley.
Ikhari Maya is first VCD film of Shri Badri Vishal Music Company, Meru Uttarakhand, S r r etc are music albums of the same banner. Sunil Patni provides opportunities to new talents than already in the industry. Ram Chamoli, Dr. Rajeshwar Uniyal a couple of names those got introduction in the industry due to Mohini and Sunil.
Sunil Patni is optimistic about future of Garhwali-Kumauni film industry. Sunil states that if the subject of film and music album is sophisticated, according to Garhwali culture the audience likes it but not against culture.
At present, Sunil is busy in the post production of ‘Meri Dhyani’ a Devi based subject of Garhwali film. Sunil is ready to l release the religious Garhwali film ‘Meri Dhyani’ on the occasion of Navratra of April 2013.
