Mahesh Prakash is the film activist that directed highest numbers of Garhwali VCD film. It is because his hard work in drama/theatre that made him famous Garhwali VCD film director.
Mahesh Prakash was born on 6/4/1966 in Bhitkot village, Syunsi-Baijron, Dhoundiyalsyun, Pauri Garhwal. Mahesh Prakash who directed highest numbers of Garhwali VCD films is Art Graduate from Delhi University.
At the age of twelve, Mahesh Prakash started performing in stage plays/drama. Mahesh Prakash acted in Hindi plays Khilone Sans ke, Pahle aur Abhi, Kalakanta aur Kalakar, Jareena, Ek Foll ek Kuta, Bhagwan dekhta Raha, Maharaja sheikh Chilli, Ladli, Parat Dar Parat, Sabak. Mahesh Prakash directed Hindi stage play Maharaja Sheikh Chilli.
Mahesh Prakash was always connected to Garhwali theatre of Delhi and acted in Garhwali stage plays as Abhagi Kamla, Ghat, Khichdi Khayin Khushi, Jua, Hari Hindwan, Mangtu Bualya and Adalat. Mahesh Prakash directed Garhwali stage play Mangtu Baulya (written by Swaroop Dhaundiyal) too.
Mahesh Prakash acted in Hindi television films as Pyara Bachpan, Chitthi Ayi hai, Heera for Doordarshan.
Mahesh Prakash produced and directed regional television serials for Doordarshan as Hamari baten Apki Yaden (100 episods), Khel khel me jito.

Mahesh urges state government to take many steps to protect Hillywood or Garhwali –Kumauni film industry. Mahess argues that the Garhwali-Kumauni film activists are divided and this is also one cause for diminishing position of Garhwali-Kumauni film industry.
