 When Nain Singh Thapa died on second Gurkha/Gorkha attck on Kangra Fort, Amar Singh Thapa was afraid of his non winning tactics creating a bad name for him and a fear of being perceived as Gorkha/Gurkha Traitor.
 Mar Singh increased his army actions. However, Nepal Court was not having confidence and faith on a legendary Amar Singh Thapa. Nepal Court dispatched a new ary led by Rudravir Chautariya and Dalarbhajan Pande for attacking on Kangra Fort. Rudravir started campaign journey from Shrinagar towards Kangra in 1806. The new army started attacking with force on kangra Fort. Kangra King Sansar Chand requested Ran Jit Singh for helping him from Gurkha/Gorkha attack. In past Sansar Chand attacked on Sikh King Ran Singh territory twice. However, Sikh King Ran Jit Singh was also conscious of Gurkha/Gorkha expansion. Sansar Chand agreed to pay 5000 rupees as tribute to Ranjit Singh fr the help. The Sikh King Ranjit Singh started to reach Kangra twice but both the time returned back from the way to Kangra. Kangra gazetteer states that Gorkha /Gorkha commander Amar Singh paid rupees 5000 to Ranjit Singh and Ranjit Singh returned.
