                  Saru is small lyrical folktale about a husband suspecting his wife relation with other man and then remorse for the consequences.

पुछद सज्वाण ग्वैरूं घस्यार्युं

तुमन मेरी सरू बि देखे?

धार ऐंच देखे बुरांस को फूल,

मैन जाणे मेरी सरू छ

डाळी  ऐंच हिलांसी बासे

मैन जाणे मेरी सरू बोलणि च।

तब सूणै वैन सरू ताल डूबे।

रुण बैठीगे सज्वाण ठाकुर

मै यनो जाणदो सरून ताल डूबण

त चट चोटी जाट देंदु मैई

सरू , डां डू फुलदा बुरांस , जिया लागदी बुरी,

ऐगी सरू वसंत रितु , मेरी सरू सुपिना मा दीख।

               The father of Saru wanted Saru marrying with a young boy of the area. Saru was in deep love with handsome strong Sajwan boy. Her parents agree marrying Saru with Sajwan. Saru and Sajwan were spending good married life.

           Once, Bhagwan the brother in law of Saru came to meet Saru and Sajwan. Saru was taking care of her brother in law more than Sajwan’s thinking. Sajwan started suspecting extramarital relation between Saru and Bhagwan. Sajwan beat his wife Saru and taunted her badly. Saru could not bear the insult and ran away from her house.

             Saru jumped in a lake and dies there.

     When Sajwan saw Rhododendron flower he thought that it was Saru. When Sajwan heard warbling of Hilans bird Sajwan thought she was Saru. Sajwan asked grass cutter, other dwelling villagers about his beloved wife.

They informed that Saru is drawn in the lake. Now, Sajwan was regretting that had he knew about Saru leaving for suicide he would have caught her hair.

  Sajwan was in deep pain of separation. Sajwan says that it is useless for him rhododendron blooming. It was useless for him spring season. Sajwan asked that if Saru would be seen in his dream.
