    Ravain region is one of the exclusive regions of Uttarakhand for its cultural heritage. The Ravain region ranges in Uttarkashi and Dehradun.

 There are many folk ritual songs and religious prose folk tales in Ravain those are not said in other parts of Garhwal-Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Dehradun.

  Masoo is major deity of Ravain region.

 There are four Masu/Masoo deities. Paavaasi is one four Masu deities. Paavaasi is said to be incarnation of Lakshman. Pavasi becomes angry immediately and becomes pleased immediately.  There used to be animal sacrifice for worshipping Pavasi Masu/Masoo deity.

 The following prose folk tale is sung as Jagar when there is Ghadela for Pavasi/Paavaasi deity.

                  पावासी मासू : एक जगर गाथा

 एक मनस्यारी रौ , मनस्यारी रौ त्यून  पूजा नि लाई , पूजा नि लाई एक द्वी बरस थाइ त्यून नि जाणि रै ,त्यून नि जाणि रै।
गुठ्यारों मरि रौ गोरु , मरि रौ गोरु चौरी न नठी , चौरी न नठी
पुछायी वाक्या , पुछाई वाक्या वाहि न बोली पावासी का दोष: पवासी का दोष:तब करी पूजा पावासी देव की, पूजा पावासी  देव की ह्वे  रौ सब ठीक, ह्वे  रौ सब ठीक , पूजा पावासी  देव की

 There was a man.

He did not worship Pavasi deity.

The man could not know for two three years.

After some time, the effects of anger by Pavasi were before them.

Animals died.

His family got high fever.

He went to future teller.

The future teller told that Pavasi deity is annoyed.

The future teller advised to perform  Pavasi ritual  to get all things right.
