      The life, beliefs, and rituals are reflected on traditional folk songs of Ravain region of Uttarkashi, Garhwal. The folk music culture is mixture of exclusively folk music of Ravain region and folk music of general Garhwal. Same applies for religious deities. Ravain region (Uttarkashi) has their own exclusive deities which are not in other parts of Garhwal and Ravain (Uttarkashi) region has also Hindu deities of Garhwal.  The religious folklores of Ravain (Uttarkashi) are creative, spiritual and cultural heritage of the Khas and Kirat culture handed down by oral methodology for centuries.  

                                    Gotha Masu deity of Ravain

               The present Jagar is about another form of major deity Masoo from Rawain region of Garhwal. Gotha Masoo is incarnation of Bharat the brother of lord Rama Chandra. Gotha is very peaceful deity from of Masu. Gotha Masoo deity does not require animal sacrifice for ritual performance.  Gotha stays at ‘Anhol ‘place. The deity Gotha Masu is just witness of Kingdom of elder brother Chalda Masu.

You always administrate righteous ways.
