Fall of Gorkha Regent Bahadur Shah

  Many Commanders and Elites were against the rise of Bahadur Shah as regent. Bahadur Shah did not care for opponents and continued winning campaigns for Gorkha Expansion. The Gorkha Rule expanded till Kumaon and Garhwal. Regent / Nayab Bahadur Shah was courageous, strategist, visionary and brave.
 There were two major groups in Gorkha Kingdom –
Thapa – They were from Khas bloodline and other those came out of Nepal used to trat this clan as inferior class. Thapa were the main people who sacrificed the most for expanding Gorkha Rule. They were mostly in army.
Chautariya Dal- Cautariya Dal was Rajput class those presume them higher than Khas or Thapa. There were three sub groups in Chautariya Group.
 Parvat Rana of Thapa group did not see eye to eye with Chautariya Group leader Mulak Diwan. Mulak was minister (Diwan) of Bahadur Shah. Parvat rana was anxious to get Diwan position from Mulak.
    Bahadur Shah pushed   his nephew the heir of Gorkha Kingdom Ran Bahadur towards consuming wine and women. However, when Ran Bahadur was twenty years old he put Bahadur Shah in jail without any lawful procedure. Bahadur Shah died in 1795 in jail. Thapa group became powerful than Chauteria Group in Gorkha Kingdom.
