Virendra Dangwal ‘Parth’: A Manharan Ghanakshari Expert in Garhwali Poetry

     Virendra Dangwal ‘Parth’ is one of the promising poet of Garhwali literature. Virendra Dangwal was born in 1973, in village Pajau, Athur Patti , Tehri Garhwal of Uttarakhand.  Virendra Dangwal is post graduate and is journalist by profession. Virendra creates poems and stories in Hindi and Garhwali as well. Virendra published Garhwali poems and humorous prose  in various periodicals and poetry collections. Virendra is also a cultural activist. Dangwal reads his poem sin poetry reading session and audiences liked his poems.

    Virendra Dangwal created Garhwali verses on various subjects and customs. Virendra also created poems on love rapture.

     Virendra creates Garhwali verses in conventional and non-conventional styles. Virendra believes in experimentation too.

 Virendra Dangwal created Manharan Ghanakshari Chhand in Garhwali. Ghanakshari is four stanza free verse but with rhyme, ending guru voil  (Guru Padant) ( आ , ई ) and having  31 Varna. One example is as follows –

बौडी आवा जी भै बंधों

हाल पुछि जावा जी

यखुली यखुलीअब

निरासेणु ज्यू मेरु अब

मुख मोड़ी तुम यनु

मि न बिसरावो जी

गौं का गौं ह्वेगेनि बांजा

तिबारि डिंडळइछाजा

रोणा छन दणमण

यनु नि सतावा जी

बदरी केदार दैणा

ह्वे जाऊ ऐंसू क साल

राजी ख़ुशि बडी तुम

घौर ऐ बि जावा जी

  Virendra uses common and new phrases, figures of speeches, (Symbols)  for creating visual (सुबेर सुबेर) ;  auditory (कागा बासि  ) , olfactory, gustatory (,चा कु बूँद ); kinesthetic(  घौर ऐ बि जावा जी ) touch, personification कागा बि मनख्यौं कि तरां झूटटु ह्वैगि  );  satire  and emotional (यनु नि सतावा जी ) images in his poems.

 Renowned poet  Atul Sharma and famous Ghazal maker Munish Saksena appreciated poems by Virendra Dangwal  . He was also awarded by Reeta Sharma award for his poems in 2017.

     In one conversation, great Garhwali poet, film activist and critic Madan Duklan stated that there is tremendous potentiality in Virendra for creating versatile poetries for Garhwali language.
