Sunil Datt Maindola: A Multitalented Garhwali Poet

       Sunil Datt Maindola is multitalented Garhwali creative.

            Sunil Datt Maindola was born in 1977 in Dwari village,  Rikhanikhal block of Pauri Garhwal.

   Sunil is post graduate and passed his master degree in education too.

    Sunil Maindola published Hindi poetry collection (mere Sapne) and Hindi Short Story collection (Patjhad).

  In Garhwali, Sunil Maindola has been pubslishing his poems in various periodicals and has published a poetry collection ‘Udgar’. His  poetry collection ‘Meri Gani’, lyric collection ‘ ‘Panderi’and jokes collection ‘Charchur-Barbur’ are under publication.

  Sunil Datt Maindola   also released a couple of video cassettes.

 Maindola also relayed 9 Garhwali pomes through FM Radio 90-8.

  Sunil used varied subjects as social cultural deterioration, nature images, love, and interpersonal relationship, political and administrative corruption in Garhwal, pain and suffering of migrated Garhwalis and suffocation in urban life.

  Sunil Datt prefers lyrical poems and there is always rhythm in his each poem. Maindola is expert of creating Garhwal images through his poems. Sunil uses simple Garhwali words (usually with Salani dialects) and does not hesitate using Hindi words.

   Poetry critic Dr. Manju Dhoundiyal appreciated his lyrical poems. A Garhwali lyric lover Indu Devrani also appreciated his uses of simple words that non Garhwali ( Indu is Kumauni) readers could easily understands his modern poems. Anand Singh Rawat (Paino , Salan)  a Garhwali poetry lover also appreciated his uses of common symbols from Garhwal.

      Sunil got a couple of awards for his creativity as  Chandrakunwar Barwal Sahitya Shri award.

        

मि थैं  उड़ण द्यो   (शहरी घुटन दर्शाती कविता )

मि उड़ण चाणु छौं 

झिंडी डांडी ठंडु बथौं म 

ताकि म्यारा पंखुड़ा मिथे 

आजादी अहसास दिलाला। 

मि रळेण च्हाणो छौ 

पहाड़ी त्वातों का बीच 

जु कौणी , झंगोरू लय्या , क्वादु 

आम -अमरुद , बन बनीका 

बावन चीजी खन्दी 

ताकि मिथैं अपणो का बीच 

अपणु अहसास हो। 

मि नि चांदु 

शहरी तोता बणिs रौं 

जु सदनि 

ल्वाखरो पिंजड़ा पुटग 

रुणाणु रैन्द ,फड़फड़ाणु रैंद 

भैर उडणो को। 

 मि उड़ण चाणु छौं 

मि थैं  उड़ण द्यो

हमरी आस -

त्वेकुु माया जोडियाल

अर पंखुडी-पुच्छडि बि

लगी गेनी त्वेफर

अब त फुरर उडी जैलु तू

म्यारू लाटा दूर परदेस तू

बणैलि एक नै घोल

बसैलि अपणी छ्वटी सि दुन्या

तु बिअास लेकि

फेर कु पुछद ब्वे- बुबा थै

कु द्यखद पुरण कूडि थै

जैका डिंडयल ,चौक फुण्ड

खितगुणू  हैंसणो रैन्द छै बचपन

यांकु दोष त्यारू बि नीच

इन त  जुग-जुग बिटै

चलणी रीति च

पर,

इतगा त याद रखी

हमरी साँखी छै तू

हमरी अाँखी छै तू

हौर

हमरी जिकुडी काख माया छै तू !

तन कि दूरी भले  जै

पर मन कि दूरी न हूण  दे  तू

याद रखी आज जन तू

अपुण भविष्य बणाणि छै

हमरू बि उनि भविष्य छै तू

बुरा दिनों  कि लाचारी म

हमरी एक आस छै तू

एक सांस छै तू

हमरू मन म हुंयूं च घंघतोल

त्वे कनक्वे बिंगौंला

अपणि मन कि बात

यो माया को पहिय्यां

कतगा तेज घुमणो यल्यूं च

ब्यटा रे ,

भोल जब तू चलि जैलु

अपणि नौकरी फर परदेस

तब हमन

घुघती सी खुदेणू रैण दिन-रात

टपराणी रैलि मयलि आँखी

तेरी सकल-सूरत द्यखण को !

ब्यटा,

जौंकि सच्ची सरधा रैद

अपणा ब्वे-बाबु खुणै

वूंकि अौलाद झुल्दा-फुल्दा हून्द

जा म्यारू लाटा

अपणि नौकरी फर

पर,

ज्वानि कि उमंग मा

भूली न जै हमुथै

अरे एक दिन त्वेन बि

हमुमैं त अाण !!
