           Nand Kishor Hatwal is multifarious talented literature creator. Nand Kishor Hatwal published tens of paintings, drawings based on social structure of upper Garhwal (near Bhotiya region). Nand Kishor Hatwal also created Garhwali cartoons. His drawings are exclusive and readers can easily recognize his drawings.  

      All Uttarakhandi appreciate unforgettable jobs of Nand Kishor Hatwal for collecting, editing Uttarakhandi folk verses and translating those folk songs into Hindi. Nand Kishor published a remarkable book ‘Chanchari’ a Uttarakhandi Folk Song collection.

  Nand Kishor creates Garhwali poems too. He published a few Garhwali poems in various periodicals.

        Nand Kishor illustrate poem related to society, wrongs in society and contemporary subjects of Garhwal.  

              He uses modern style in creating poems. Famous editor and critic Madan Duklan appreciates Hatwal for his method of illustrating contemporary burning issues through simple phrases. Hatwal is perfect for illustrating bigger issue in a few words.

बूते जांदन नौंना 

घर जामि जंदिन ब्यटुला 

लाड -प्यार नौंना तैं 

पर कळकी जंदिन  ब्यटुला  

एवरेस्ट जन तड़तड़ा पोड़ि पर 

धकियायी जंदिन नौंना 

पर चढ़ी जंदिन   ब्यटुला 

सुख का सुपिन्या दिखोंदा नौंना 

पर जिंदगी की सचै  ब्यटुला
