Kunj Bihari Mundepi ‘Kaljugi’: A Garhwali Poet, Film Activist, Humorist, Dictionary Maker and Musician

  Kunj Bihari Mundepi ‘Kaljugi’ have been contributing Garhwali literature for more than two decades.

  Kunj Bihari Mudepi was born in 1965 in Mundyap, Mawalsyun of Pauri Garhwal.

 There are twelve poems by Mudepi in ‘Kauthig’ (1984) a Garhwali poetry collection. There are twelve poetries by Mahvir Badola in ‘Kauthig’ too.

   Kunj Bihari Mundepi published a poetry collection ‘Aina’ (2010). Critics appreciated the poetries by Mundepi. There are thirty four poems by Kunj Bihari Mundepi ‘Kaljugi’ in ‘Aina’.

  Kunj Bihari Mundepi ‘Kaljugi’ creates conventional lyrical poems, Chhitga (small poems) and modern poems too.

Kunj Bihari Mundepi ‘Kaljugi’ is expert of creating humor and satire in Garhwali.

Kunj Bihari Mundepi ‘Kaljugi’ wrote screenplay of Garhwali film ‘Chakrachal’ and dialogues for Garhwali film ‘Pyari Chhuma’.

Kunj Bihari Mundepi ‘Kaljugi’ edited and published ‘Mundepi family tree a historical accounts of Mundepi in Garhwal.

At present, Kunj Bihari Mundepi ‘Kaljugi’ is busy in creating Garhwali dictionary. Kunj Bihari Mundepi ‘Kaljugi’ also participate in developing Garhwali music too. He has plan for music composing top twenty Garhwali poems.  

           कृष्णावतार  (गढ़वाली कविता )

 कृष्ण त्वे तैं इंडिआ आण प्वाड़लो 

गीता मा दियूं बचन निभाण  प्वाड़लो। 

बंसि का बजैया यख बंसि ना बजैई 

यख त सूखो शंक बजाण प्वाड़लो।  

नि मिलणि यख दै , दूद , घ्यू अर नौणी 

अब लोखरौ भैंसों त्वे पिजाण  प्वाड़लो।

अब वो कत्थक नाच कै नी सुहांदो 

गोप्यूं तैं डिस्को दिखाण  प्वाड़लो

वीणा बंसुळी को रस सब खतेगे 

त्वे तैं गिटार ही बजाण   प्वाड़लो।

छ्यड़ीलो जो कै नारि गोपी समझिकी 

त ठाणा को  टिगट कटाण प्वाड़लो

घचोरी की ठाणादार पुलिस की  लद्वड़ी 

मुश्किल से अफु तैं छ्वड़ाण  प्वाड़लो।

हिंगोड़ ख्यलणो अर रास रचणो 

लुकाचोरी का खेल ह्वे गेन पुराणा 

त्वे तैं मुंड   मा हैट अर हात मा बैट 

क्रिक्यटी प्लेयर बणिक आण प्वाड़लो।

सौंगो नी च सरकारी काम क्वी कराणों 

रज दफ्तर का चक्कर लगाण प्वाड़लो

ठिकठाक ह्वे जालि सब धाणी फिर बी 

पूळो रुप्या रड़ाण   प्वाड़लो।

संस्कृत गढ़वळि हर्चि , हिन्दी बि जौंदा 

अंग्रेजी मा त्वे तैं  बबड़ाण प्वाड़लो

जलम ल्हेकि पौड़ि लेखि उत्तराखड मा 

फिर अफु तैं देसी बथाण  प्वाड़लो।

ऐलो त नेता बणीकी नि ऐई 

नथर बगत-बगत  झूट ब्वलण  प्वाड़लो

ऐ जाला ठाट जो मिलि जालि खुर्सी 

नथर चमचागिरीम् जीवन  बिताण  प्वाड़लो।

आजा तु कै रूप मा बी कन्हैया 

जनता का बोझ बिसाण  प्वाड़लो

यख ह्वे गेना हजारों कंस पैदा 

यूको हंकार मिटाण प्वाड़लो।
