Mohan Sailani: Expert Poet for satirical realism

 Mohan Sailani was born in Gadhmonu village, Khatsyun of Pauri Garhwal.

 Mohan Sailani has been publishing his Garhwali poems in various periodicals for last two decades. Mohan Sailani is famous for writing smaller version of poetry (Chhitga). Madan Duklan mentions that there is well mixed the satire and realism in the Chhitga by Mohan Sailani. Mohan tells much in a few words through his poems. His satire is harp and realism compels readers for thinking.

गढ़वाली छिटगा कविता

-

पैली कलम 

पुंगड्युं अर बणौ मा /उपजदा छै 

अब बाजार मा बिकणी छन 

तुमी ब्वाला /बिकीं कलम 

क्या खाक लिखणी छन !

 In old age,

Reed pens grew in forests or farms 

Now, pens are sold in markets  

Tell me! 

Would the auctioned pen write the reality?

वो क्या जाणी पहाड़ कू दर्द 

जौंन पर्वत पखाण नि द्यखिन 

दूर बटी देखिक 

पहाड़ का हमदर्द बणण वळो 

अरे जावा 

तुम जना भौत द्यखीन !

   छिटगा -3 

-

हां रे हाँ 

सची त भै /हम छंवां निर्भाग 

हमर पहाड्युं कू भाग 

पुटगि मा आग / पुंगण्यूं मा नाग 

अर गुठ्यार मा बाघ 

हां रै हां 

हम छौं निर्भाग !
