                 Jagdish Devrani writes modern Garhwali moral story. The present story ‘Apunu ku Dukh’ is about telling the readers that parents should not interfere unnecessarily on the lives of their married daughters. Ramesh is a government forest worker. His parents and wife Nisha live together. Nisha’s father writes a letter to his son law (Ramesh). Nisha forces her husband Ramesh to obey the advices of her father. Nisha starts living with her father. Now, there is rift in the family of Nisha’s father. Nisha’s father understands his mistake and the story ends in happy ending.

  The story seems to be folk story in terms of moral message. However, Jagdish could create tension ata couple of situations in the story.

         There are flaws in the Garhwali language in the writing of Devrani. He is not master of Garhwali and translate Hindi thought in Garhwali.  These types of writers are dangerous for Garhwali language as Devrani does use Hindi words and phrases while there are available Garhwali words and proper phrases for those Hindi words or phrases.
