      Lieutenant Colonel Nicholas also followed same rout on that L C Gardner marched for Kumaon.  Nicholas reached Katarmal on 9^th April 1815. Within ten -twelve days, his reserve armed force with guns also reached there.

     There were around total 3000 personnel in his army. They consumed all the food that was brought by Rutherford within short period.  Rutherford could not arrange for food supply for British army. Many times in campaign, British army soldiers ate roasted raw wheat seeds. They used to bring raw wheat seeds from nearby filed.
