Shyam Kalyaani: A Garhwali Folk Dance-Song by Aujees in the Chait month

                       Chait is the peak month for cultural activities in villages of Kumaun and Garhwal.  In every village the respective Aujees (a drummer class) to village and play drums.
                     Aujees play different tune and sing different song in morning, at afternoon and in evening.
   In old age  (from Khas and Kainturaai eras), the king used to erect a temple every year  and Aujees used to play drums in morning, at afternoon and in evening with different tunes. In evening Aujees used to play drums with Shyam Kalyani tune.
                Even today, Aujees play drums with Shyam Kalyani tune in the evening of first day of month Chait. Mostly the songs are the prayer of deities.
                 The following is an example of Shyam Kalyani tune played and sung by Aujees in the evening of first day of month Chait.

 चैत माह में संध्या समय औजियों द्वारा बजाये जाने वाला 'श्याम कल्याणी' नृत्य- गीत
स्थाई चरण - झै माता सकल भवानी
सहायक चरण - जाल थल उदपी भवानी झै माता सकल भवानी
द्यूल थाल कपास की बाती माता सकल भवानी
सवा गज जोत जगाई माता सकल भवानी
माता को रिंगद छतर चढ़ाई झै माता सकल भवानी
द्यबतौं की टु ध्याणी भवानी माता सकल भवानी
दैन्तू को दल भगसीणे भवानी माता सकल भवानी
यक दांत अगास यक दंत पाताल माता सकल भवानी
लोई तिसाली मासू की मुकाली माता सकल भवानी
खडग चक्रर लेकी आजा माता सकल भवानी
