  Bazari Kathur or Kathur Bara village is one of the largest villages of Dhangu region. There are twelve or thirteen castes in Kathur Bara village. Kukretis dominate Kathur Bara village. There are three family trees of Kukreti in Kathur Bara village- Dang wal, Dada Mandal and Dalmogya family trees.

      Dang wal Kukreti families tell many prideful stories of their forefather Lalmani Kukreti born century back. . Lalmani Kukreti was Sanskrit Karmkand scholar, Mantra scholar, Ayurveda practitioner and great devotee of Devi Goddess.Lalmani Kukreti was a chief priest of Devi Temple, Kathur Bara.

  Lalmani Kukreti was great Devi devotee and Devi used to call him for informing him future natural disasters or enemies attacks that Kathur people take corrective measures.

      Once in dark night, Lalmani Kukreti was sleeping under Pall (grass camping material) in Goth (where temporarily animals are kept for a or two night on a farm). In mid night, Devi called Lalmani Kukreti for helping her carriers the Tiger. Lalmani Kukreti woke up and was eager to know where the needy tiger was. He lit Chhill and saw that the wounded paw of the tiger. Tiger was sitting on pall and his wounded paw was out of Pall. Lalmani Kukreti saw that there was a spike stuck up into tiger’s paw. Tiger was crying due to pain. With the aid of stick, Lalmani Kukreti took out the spike from tiger’s paw and put herbs. Tiger felt relief and went back from Pall towards Devi Temple.

 Goddess Devi blessed Lalmani Kukreti for being famous personality  for his help to her carrier Tiger.
