                  ‘ Gaun ki Yad’ is first Garhwali poetry collection by Kailash Bahukandi ‘Jiwan’.

  There are 60 different types and tones of Garhwali poetries. Most of poems in this volume are related to Garhwal, Garhwalis and Garhwalism.

  There are poems related to memories for hills by a migrated Garhwali as in ‘Mi un tai pranam kardu’, ‘ vu kilai ai Bhabhar’ ‘yad ai get u myar gaun’ and  ‘gaun ki yad’poem -

Hari –bhar- dali –butyun ma

Lagyan, hisar –kingod ar bedu

 The poet shows his concern for young generation becoming addicted to alcohol through poems as ‘Sharabi’ ‘Daru buri chij ch ‘

   Kailash is very much concerned for poverty in Garhwal though it has ample of natural resources as in ‘mimano ki ghimsan’, ‘kya ye thai I jeewan boldan’ ‘he garibi mi tu tai pranam kardu’ poems.

  There are many poem sof inspiring nature and poet shows his concern that human beings should opt for idealistic way life (as Kyankhun?,Shbas myara kisan’ etc)

 There are poems related for own language and endangered language Garhwali.

 Kalisha created satirical poems and are critical for wrong happenings.

  All poems are unrhymed but don’t lose the required speed. The language is Gangasalani (South Garhwal) and is very near to standard Garhwali.  Kailash uses typial Garhwali phrases and phrases are capable for creating Garhwali flavor.

   Poetry critic Manju Dhoundiyal appreciates the poetries of Kaliash Bahukhandi for concerning Garhwal, Garhwalis and Garhwalism.
