(Abstract: This author translates a stanza of lyric by Narendra Singh Negi. The author provides the examples of falling of Great Empires and religions due to corruption and downing of moral values. The author also provide ten recent world leaders who fell from power because of corruption )

One of the greatest singer of India Narendra Singh Negi wrote a stanza in his lyric “ Kathga Khailya Re’ (a song from music album)
Nayo-nayo raj Uttarakhand, log aasm chhan
Log je log asamaa log
Nayo-nayo raj Uttarakhand, log aasm chhan
(Literal translation of above lyric is -The Uttarakhand province is newest province of India. The people are in hope that their conditions will change after new province)
The history of newly ten years old province Uttarakhand is that , in every general election, the ruling party lose the election and opposition party comes in power. The major reason of falling of ruling party had been that the ruling party is perceived by people involved in corrupt methods. However, no political party wants to learn lesson from the people’s verdict that people want no corruption in the state.
It is not the case of Uttarakhand, but the case is same all over world. The history is proof that most of the empires fell because of corruption and declines in social values and decline in administrative moral values at court level. Corruption had been major reason behind the fall of great empires.
Roman Empire fell down because of decline in moral values and increase in corruption
Alexander the great won many battles in India because the corruption was vital factor within many Indian kingdoms.
Magadha empire fell down because of corruption. Gupta Empire declined because of decline in moral values and increase in corruption.
Historians blame for fall of Sicily for corruption at middle and high level.
Han dynasty fell because of corruption at administrative level.
One of the factors of losing control over European kingdoms by Church (Pope) was corruption within churches.
Buddhism wiped out from India because of corruption in Buddhist Math (temples)
Many kings lost kingdom in Africa because of corruption within the kingdoms.
Mogul Empire declined because of corruption and downing of moral values

Narendra Singh Negi is directly hinting the politicians that they should take care of public aspiration and should not indulge in corruption.
