Chameli Jugran : An Artist, Painter, Poet, Writer and Musician

Garhwal have been providing eminent women intellectuals and artists . One of famous artist is Shrimati Chameli Jugran. Chameli Jugran was born in 1939, in Gandasu (Tihri ) near Shrinagar Uttarakhand.
She completed her primary education in Bhagalpur, Intermediate from Katmandu and she completed her bachelor of art in Journalism. She is married to Shri Ramesh Chandra
She got diploma in social welfare from California USA, got diploma in paintinng from famous art institution -Royal College of art Sweden and learnt painting in Jambia and Lucaka.
Married with an officer in foreign service Ramesh Chandra, she got chances to travel abroad in many countries and regions.
She exhibited her paintings in many countries and Indian cities . Her first painting exhibition was exhibited in Ifax gallery of Delhi in 1983. Two painting exhibitions were exhibited in Kabul in 1983. Her painting was there in famous one of the oldest Hindu temple Ashamai in Kabul Afghanistan.
Her two paintings are there in National Gallery of Art and Paintings of Afghanistan Kabul
She published her many stories in Sarika . Her articles were published in Saptahik Hindustan and Tribune Chandigarh. Many poems were published in various periodicals. Uttarakhand is proud of Chameli Jugran
